Cruse Parking

Cruse Parking

Cruise Parking

You have several options to think about for your cruise parking, one of which is how to conveniently reach the port.  You may need shuttle services to and from the airport or port. Some options include Lyft, Uber, or group transfers which are cost-effective.

Are you going to park at the port?  Honestly, this is one of the most expensive yet convenient parking options. If you plan to stay at a hotel the night before, it’s worth checking if any parking packages are available. Alternatively, if you decide to park at a lot other than the port parking, it’s essential to arrive at least 30 minutes before your check-in time. While some port cruise parking lots require reservations, others do not. However, by pre-planning and addressing this matter ahead of time when possible,  you can minimize stress and avoid last-minute concerns on the day of your travel.

Cruise Tips

Cruise Tips

Going on a cruise is an unforgettable experience.  A cruise can be one of the best vacations possible because you’re not bothered with what to eat, what hotel to stay in etc.  Everything is included. Below are 5 Tips that will make your cruise more enjoyable

Cruise Tip #1

Empty your phone for photos! How many times have you gone to take a picture, and got the MEMORY FULL error!  Oh my goodness, that’s so aggravating.  So to alleviate that being an issue.  Backup all your photos on another device or in the cloud and delete all the photos on your phone. You may even consider taking a portable charger to charge your phone, because it doesn’t do any good to have full memory but no battery 🙂  By doing this you’re able to capture those special memories of your cruise that you can share, love and enjoy!

Cruise Tip #2

If possible go ahead and take care of your gratuities before getting on the cruise.  It’s one less headache, one less line to stand in and simply put, it gives you more time to enjoy your super awesome vacation.

Cruise Tip #3

If you are not already a rewards member with the cruise line in which you’ll be sailing be sure to sign up!  You earn points each time you sail and those points lead up to future savings and discounts on your next cruise.  It doesn’t cost you anything so why not?  If you sign up for Carnival, yes you must still sign up for Royal Caribbean they are not all the same.  Each one of these reward programs have different perks.  For example with Royal Caribbean, each person that is in the same household and sails with receive points if another member sails even if they didn’t sail.  Make sure the reward accounts are connected.

Cruise Tip #4

If you have teens or pre-teens, they may not want to stay in the teen center all day and the entire time; they may want to walk around and explore the ship.  That can be a great idea, but it drove me bunkers when I didn’t know where my 14 year son and his friend was.  You can’t use your cell phones when on the cruise to make calls so that idea went out of the window.  Well here’s an idea, get walkie talkies!!! Make sure you get ones that are able to extend for large distances, because cruise ships are large and you may be on one end of the child and your teenager may be on the other side, you want to have the option to contact them.  If you can purchase walkie talkies before you leave that’s awesome!  You can even check out the ones here on this page.  You want to enjoy your cruise, not spend the entire time being concerned about where your children are.

Cruise Tip #5

Get cash prior to leaving the ship.  When shopping in other countries, you have to be careful when swiping your debt card.  When going to the ATM, the fees are typically higher as well.  So, enjoy your cruise, excursions, tours and trips; but if at all possible have your cash ready prior to leaving the ship.

Travel Insurance

Travel Insurance

There are several reasons to obtain travel insurance.  You never know what will happen. Travel insurance can help cover medical evacuation, which means travelers do not have to pay for medical emergency transportation expenses out of their own pockets.  You may have seen in the last few years the number of hurricanes that have hit the United States, Caribbeans, Virgin Islands, and other areas how this type of insurance could come into good use if you were stranded on vacation. Even worse, to become get sick on vacation and need to be transported by ambulance in a foreign country this insurance will help take care of your expenses.

Another important benefit is that travel insurance provides protection against trip cancellation and interruption. By having travel insurance you are simply covering yourself against travel risks such as lost of luggage or cancellation.  By having travel insurance you can have a peace of mind because you can rest knowing that you will be prepared for all types of disasters that may arise on your adventure around the world. The airlines are busy and hectic which mistakes can happen like losing your luggage, would cause your vacation to be costly, and not to mention very uncomfortable.   Having the assurance of knowing that this insurance will take care of something like losing your luggage is well worth it!

Contact your travel agent to request more information about travel insurance and protection.
